Think Tank Tuesdays presents

Honoring the Deaf Professional

(Title) Think Tank Tuesdays

Irene Robles has teamed up with Bonnie Faye, in a collaborative series honoring a featured Deaf professional, every second Tuesday of the month.

Think Tank Tuesdays is an opportunity to take in the Deaf experience and appreciate each guest’s journey. After their interview, we engage in proactive dialogue with the Deaf Professional about collaboration, trust and rapport.

These honest and unique Deaf perspectives open the door for interpreters to check in, thus fueling the 4th Tuesday’s interactive session!

Join us as we share insights.

Irene Robles’ love for teaching started in 2012. Mt. SAC hired her in 2016, realizing Irene would be one of their star instructors. In 2020, Irene began teaching the first Principles of Interpreting class for Deaf students at Mt SAC.

Irene cherishes this opportunity to prepare the Deaf individual in how they approach interpreting professionalism,

best business practices, and ethics.

Irene is a Wonder Woman for the Deaf and DeafBlind communities. As an interpreter herself, she is forever learning and is currently attending a Gallaudet program to enhance her DeafBlind interpreting and ASL teaching skills.

As a moderator she is animated, humorous and fun to watch! Her questions are poignant, as she shares insights and a good time with her guests.

In 2020, Irene and Bonnie Faye started working together.

Bonnie Faye has been interpreting for 45 years; presenting and mentoring for 35 years. Her experience ranges from 1975 to the present, working in medical, mental health, VRS and community work. In 1995 Bonnie Faye started training with Carla Mathers for legal interpreting and trained with several legal mentors. In 1997 she launched her own business,

Pula Legal Interpreting Network.

Since 2015 she has been working as a trial team interpreter for the Deaf prosecutor in Santa Ana, CA. Bonnie Faye believes we retain learning from small chunks of information at a time, thus Think Tank Tuesday was developed. Learning from the Deaf community is vital as they have insights to share with the interpreting community. Come join us.

The story behind "Grow Professionally"

In 2015, Bonnie Faye founded Grow Professionally as a training platform where she founded the STRENGTHS curriculum and the Boardroom Mentorshops©. She promotes other presenters and works with master interpreters honing their interpreting skills and ethics. Presently she is presenting on, “The Law and Forensic Listening.” Promoting workshops is not where she stopped. Bonnie Faye now has a program called “Think Tank Tuesdays” where the ASL interpreting community can listen to Deaf Professionals discuss the milestones to their Identity, their first encounter with ASL, and various experiences in working with interpreters. She brings humor and learning techniques to each of her presentations.
